Personal Travels and Experiences

Bonnie and I got to experience some great travel opportunities this past year. We were able to travel to Grand Cayman (twice!) Grenada, Florida, and Alexandria Bay, NY.

Grand Cayman

Scuba diving in Grand Cayman was an unforgettable experience. The warm, crystal-clear waters were teeming with vibrant marine life. One of the highlights was diving at the famous Cayman Wall, where the coral reef descends dramatically into the abyss. 

Grenada

Grenada offered a unique diving experience with its underwater sculpture park, a blend of art and nature. The diving conditions were perfect, with great visibility and calm waters. Exploring the sculptures surrounded by marine life was surreal. We also ventured to dive at the famous Bianca C, a sunken cruise ship, which was both eerie and educational. The wreck had become a thriving reef, attracting an array of marine species and creating a stunning underwater environment.

Florida

Diving in Florida took us to the vibrant reefs Marathon in the Florida Keys. The diversity in marine ecosystems was remarkable, and we enjoyed dives that included wrecks, drift dives, and shallow reef explorations. 

Volunteering at Adventure Aquarium - Camden, NJ

My time volunteering as a diver at Adventure Aquarium was immensely rewarding. As part of the team, I assisted with daily feedings and interactions with visitors in the large Ocean Realm tank. This experience deepened my respect for marine life and enhanced my diving skills in a controlled environment. I learned about the care and conservation efforts necessary to protect our oceans. The joy of sharing my passion for diving with others, especially children, was a highlight of my volunteer work.
